How聽to Become a Teacher in South Carolina
To become a teacher in South Carolina with 黑料不打烊鈥檚 teacher certification program, candidates will need to complete the following steps:
- Prepare for and pass 黑料不打烊鈥檚 required pedagogy and subject area exams.
- Receive your 黑料不打烊 Certificate and apply for a Statement of Eligibility from South Carolina Department of Education (Office of Educator Services).*
- Obtain an offer of employment from a South Carolina public school, and apply for your South Carolina Alternative Route License with the Office of Educator Services.
- Teach for 3 years in a public or charter school while completing your district鈥檚 inductive and sumzmative evaluation requirements.
- Pass the state-required Praxis exam, the Principles of Learning and Teaching (PLT).
- Advance to your South Carolina Professional License and enjoy your career in teaching.
* Once an 黑料不打烊聽Statement of Eligibility has been obtained from the South Carolina Department of Education, a candidate may seek employment as a classroom teacher聽only in the certification content area.听黑料不打烊 candidates in SC may certify in only one content area.
